If you’re not terrified by what you see happening in this country…with your own eyes, then you just are not paying attention. I am desperately concerned by what I see happening with foreclosures. I am terrified knowing that people who speak out are being persecuted and prosecuted because they dare to take on the establishment and the corporations.
But we all need to look beyond the travesty and carnage that the banks and corporations have created in our courts and in our neighborhoods and we all need to see how the banks and the corporations, with the assistance of our courts, legislatures and elected officials have invaded every single aspect of our lives. The foreclosure horror show that is still playing across this country is just one area of corporate carnage that every single American can understand…..but this is not the only area…and that is terrifying.
What if the same destructive corporate policies and ineffective government that we seen in foreclosure invaded our food production system?
This in fact has already happened, and the consequences may be far more destructive to our way of life than everything we’ve seen in foreclosure. I’ve spent time talking to farmers and people who live in the country, and the stories they tell are quite disturbing. Corporations are suing and bullying small farmers who are standing up to the seed and food companies just the same way the banks and Wall Street corporations are attacking anyone who dares to challenge them. But here’s where things get real bad….
THE FOOD AND SEED COMPANIES ARE EXPERIMENTING ON OUR FOOD SYSTEM JUST LIKE THE WALL STREET COMPANIES EXPERIMENTED ON OUR FINANCE AND REAL ESTATE COMPANIES.
